I have previously produced an article advising the need for a marketing plan if you felt you were sinking with internet marketing. This is so true. I also advised to take on two marketing strategies – one paid and one free/low cost.

Regarding the two marketing strategies, I would suggest the paid method was Pay Per Click and the free method being video marketing. Both methods are high converting so why not start off with these. Use both of these methods in your Marketing Strategy Plan.

Paid advertising

Start with PPC (Pay Per Click) and master this as this is the highest converting strategy. However, I would be selective with the search engines and may even consider avoiding Google in the early stages. Regarding paid methods, start with a small budget, test and tweak.

Do your keyword research, think about your audience (Avatar) and learn to write compelling ads that connect. Remember to track everything.

Work on two search engines to start off with. Once you start seeing results then fan out to more. Always keep an eye on your budget though.

For PPC start small, about $200 per month. When they start converting into money then raise the limit.

The best keywords to target are those with low competition and may even be in positions 4 to 8. This way your cost per click should be a lot lower.

Free marketing/low cost advertising

Video marketing is really on the increase and yes there is a lot of competition. This is free marketing although you may need to buy some equipment. Syndicating the videos will also have a cost.

Why video marketing? Because it is the easiest strategy. Article marketing is now too crowded.

YouTube for instance has loads of traffic through Google. Google loves video content and is the highest converting traffic search. If there isn’t a video on the first page for your product or service then there is the opening.

Video marketing is a good way to build your confidence and helps you to communicate more effectively.

What happens if you produced two videos a week for six months? This will equate to some 50 videos. There is a good chance you will have up to 10 leads per day with this quantity of videos.

Practise makes perfect, but your videos could stay out there forever. Provide content and value and you will get results so make this an integral part of your marketing.

Plan and execute. Your marketing plan should take into account:
  • Your audience i.e. network marketers and broadcast to these people.
  • Great connecting ads
  • suitable domain names that attract people
  • Linking the domain names to the right websites. Be congruent and outrageous.
Every conversation, broadcast, emails, videos must make that connection to your chosen audience. Target peoples needs and desires – ads that resonate with other people.

Learn to do one thing a day. A person who chases two rabbits catches neither. Think about laser focusing.

When you get good at a marketing strategy then is the time work on others.

Why video marketing? Videos are becoming the way forward in marketing. This is evident through the use of Youtube and other social media video platforms. Such marketing covers many topic areas and are produced by a wide ranging age group. However, to make your own movie or video for marketing as oppose to fun requires some structure. The following tips are useful for any type of internet marketing, but especially usefulto promote your Ideas Working From Home.

So what is the key to producing great videos?

1. Don’t use a script. If you are appearing in a video or doing a voice over, it needs to sound as natural as possible. You are allowed to be you, and besides, it’s you people will connect with – not your product or service. Having a few bullets as reminders is not a bad thing to have in front of you.

2. Smile. Show you are confident and relaxed. Enjoying the video would help in this. Even when doing a voice over, smile as it will make you sound more up beat.

3. Memorise the beginning. You do need to make an impact at the beginning to engage the audience. You can’t afford to get this wrong so have a great beginning. This will need crafting. You will need to include something about you especially to attract attention. Explain who you are, where you are from and any interesting background to make that connection. This opening can be the same for every video so no need to reinvent.

4. Know how to end. So you have a great beginning, you offer content and value in the middle but what are you looking to happen when it comes to the end. Generally there needs to be some “call to action”. Know how you wish to end the video. This is as important as the beginning.

So what do you include in the video:

·         You need to work on a way to put across valuable content. Think about the why, how and what. Add emotions as this will help make that connection. Remember the audience is making that connection with you. However, do not over do it. Too much of the ‘what’ and ‘how’ will put people off and is one of the mistakes many people make.

·         You could take ideas off of books you have read

·         Use personal life experiences provided they are relevant.

·         Mention a current event, but keeping in mind the video may be present for many years.

·         Tell a story. The saying goes; facts tell; stories sell.

So what about the execution:

·         Use a good digital camera. A USB port is useful for instant downloads.

·         Use a tripod as there is nothing worse than a shaky or blurred film.

·         You don’t need to do anything fancy or try and make it a best selling block buster. Just keep it real and sometimes can include any errors made.

·         Ensure the sound is clear so avoid areas with noisy backgrounds – especially wind noise.

·         Short videos can be effective so try limiting to about 2 minutes max.

·         If you are the star of the video, ensure you are proportionally centred about 2/3 from the bottom.

·         Trying to get the video perfect will take time, and although the more takes, the more natural you become, but in order to keep it real, you should look to have no more than 3 takes.

·         It is always worth doing a quick 10 second test before you really get into the video recording.

·         Overall, the video must be watchable and this takes into account all of the above.

Video Editing:

Once completed, edit the video through video editing software and there are paid and free versions available. AVS Video Editing software is brilliant as it does cover a multitude of formats. If you are looking to be creative, you can add Microsoft Power Point Presentations provided you save this in MPEG format. You can use a software like Jing if you wish to add screen shots and Animoto to create a beginning with impact.

Distributing your video:

Depending what you are marketing, distributing your video can be achieved through a number of sites. For starters you could distribute through a number of the popular social media sites like Youtube and other Video sites, post to your blogs or web sites and if looking for mass distribution then use a site like Tubemogul or Traffic Geyser.com.

Remember, make it fun!!!
